It's Only Been 24 Hours, But I Can't Stop Thinking About Big Walk, the Brilliant Co-Op Hit

It's Only Been 24 Hours, But I Can't Stop Thinking About Big Walk, the Brilliant Co-Op Hit

It has only been 24 hours since I first sat down with Big Walk, and I still cannot shake it. That is not a complaint. This is the new co-op game from House House, the studio behind the gloriously chaotic Untitled Goose Game, and it is every bit as clever as that breakout hit. But where the goose was about causing mischief on your own terms, Big Walk is built entirely around talking to the person next to you.

The core idea is simple: you and a partner explore a strange, shifting landscape. The catch is that you do not always see the same things. One player might spot a path that the other cannot, or a puzzle piece will only appear for one of you at a time. That forces constant communication. You have to describe what you are seeing, ask questions, and trust what the other person tells you. It is a brilliant twist on the usual co-op formula, where you are usually just solving the same puzzle together. Here, you are solving it across two different versions of reality.

What makes it work is how natural it feels. There is no pressure to be fast or efficient. You just wander, talk, and figure things out at your own pace. The game does not punish you for getting lost, because getting lost is part of the point. In just a few hours, I have had more genuine laughs and moments of shared confusion than in most full-length games. Big Walk understands that the best co-op experiences are not about the destination, but about the silly, wonderful conversations you have along the way. I already know I will be thinking about this one for a long time.
