Capcom has officially announced its lineup for Gamescom 2024, and it includes two major surprises for fans of the action-RPG and platforming genres. The company confirmed that a significant expansion for Dragon's Dogma 2 is in development, alongside a brand-new entry in the long-dormant Mega Man series. Both titles are expected to be playable or showcased in-depth at the event in August.
The Dragon's Dogma 2 expansion, currently without a subtitle, is said to introduce a new region to explore, additional vocations, and a deeper narrative thread that picks up after the base game's multiple endings. This marks the first major content drop for the game since its release earlier this year, and Capcom is positioning it as a "full-scale" addition rather than a simple DLC pack.
On the Mega Man front, details remain scarce, but Capcom confirmed the project is not a remaster or collection. Instead, it is a completely new game, though it is unclear whether it will follow the classic Blue Bomber, the X series, or a new sub-franchise. This will be the first original Mega Man title since Mega Man 11 in 2018.
Rounding out the company's Gamescom presence are updates for Onimusha and Street Fighter 6. Onimusha is expected to receive a remaster announcement for modern platforms, while Street Fighter 6 will showcase its next season of downloadable fighters. Capcom's booth will be one of the largest at the show, with hands-on demos for all four titles.
